Minutes - April 19, 2009

I. Opening
- Opened with the Serenity Prayer.
- Reading of the Twelve Traditions.

II. Introductions / Roll Call

- Absent with notice: Joel, Kristina, Darren, Alex, Jason.

III. Committee Chair Reports
Secretary
- Minutes from4/5/09 reviewed and accepted.

Treasurer
- $2,917.63; $120 of this is petty cash.

Outreach
- We made a cool poster thing showing the outreach trips we’ve made recently.

SENY
- Dan met with somebody from SENY to talk about something.

Inter-Group
- Unable to answer phones last Saturday due to complications with making the phone connection (intergroup’s fault, not ours).

C&TF
- Nobody has been taking meetings lately, but now we have guys who will be bringing two meetings a month into Rikers. We still need more.

CPC/PI
- Daniel has been talking to Staten Island YMCA for a while now. He talked to somebody from Staten Island about starting up a YP meeting out there. They already had a bunch of YP who were going to a non-YP meeting, so they decided to start a YP meeting as well. The meeting just began on Friday nights (last Friday was the first meeting). Maybe we could make an outreach trip…

- Things going well. Hotels: $179/night for BK Marriot. $199/night from Marriot Marquis. Everything else going well; passing stuff around for the group to look at.

VI. Old Business
Bid Skit
- Progress being made. There needs to be a semi-final version of it presented at the next NYCYPAA meeting for approval, that way we have time to make any changes if need be and re-present at the next meeting.
Bylaws Change
- Motion to transfer the duties of “storing the NYCYPAA banner and outreach table materials” from the Literature Chair to the Outreach Chair.
- Group has little to say about the motion. Motion passes.
Website
- Phil thinks that the payments we’ve been making have been for the following years, rather than the previous ones. As long as we’re planning on moving off his web space in the near future, he’s content with just being paid $9 for the domain registration fee.
T-shirts and stickers for ICYPAA
- Two options being passed around, both using the coffee cup “We are happy to serve you” theme.
- We can buy the actual cups to have at the bid table, but they’re relatively expensive because they have been discontinued.
- Motion to buy 1,000 cups and 500 stickers. Motion passed: 9-2-1.
- T-shirts: five options being passed around. Which one is the coolest?
- Motion to accept option 3 as is. Motion passes: 9-2-1.

VII. New Business

Hugh got an email before the 12 Concepts Workshop about recording the event and thought maybe NYCYPAA would like to consider recording events.
- Discussion. Tabled until first meeting after ICYPAA.
Hugh volunteers for web chair. Accepted by acclamation.

VIII. Closing
- Serenity Prayer.
- The next NYCYPAA committee meeting will be on Sunday, May 3rd @ 4:00pm.
