NYCYPAA MEETING
April 6th, 2008
4-6 PM

I. Opening
-Opened with the Serenity Prayer.
-Reading of the Twelve Traditions.

II. 7th Tradition Discussion

III. Introductions / Roll Call
-Present: Daniel, Meg, Dustina, Erin, Kathleen, Darren, Kristina, Jared, Jason, Cory
-Absent with notice: Josh, Laura
-Absent without notice: David

IV. Committee Chair Reports
a. Secretary (Sabrina)
-Minutes from 3/16/08 reviewed and accepted.
b. Treasurer (Kathleen)
- In Account: 2346.27 with $10 check to Brooklyn, $28 to Sabrina
- Petty Cash: 141.09
- Talk of using the NYCYPAA Debit Card to make purchases for the dance (we would have to activate it... may not be a good idea)
- Some places we would have to rent from require credit cards

d. Events (Meg)
-One Dance at a Time: Friday, April 11th @ Our Lady of Pompeii.
-All positions are filled (service wise)
-We will need a lot of volunteers at the 15 min interval between the meeting and the dance
-Still need to worry about getting speakers
-All speakers are confirmed
e. Outreach (VACANT--> Meg)
-Meg went to 2 meetings in the Bronx to outreach the dance
-Another meeting in Astoria, Live and Let Live
-Went to a meeting in the Bronx called Never Too Young
-Going to Email Queens DCMs the flyer
f. Bid Book (Laura absent --> Daniel proxies)
-Sent out an email requesting personal info, still waiting to hear back
-Theme of this year’s book should be NY Pizza
-Didn’t take any action on the by-laws yet
-YP History, SENY Archives reviewed the outline and gave us the go ahead
g. Bid Facilities (Daniel, Jared)
-Got in touch with a lot of hotels, many declined, will know soon what will happen
h. Web (Cory)
-Many of the flyers are not posted yet, will happen soon.
-March minutes still need to be posted (Sabrina will send them)
-Darren makes motion to remove Phil R’s link from the website--> passes
i. SENY Liaison (Dustina)
-Went to the Assembly today, group questionnaires
-Doctor’s Program stuff
j. Intergroup Liaison (VACANT)
-The next phones commitment will be on April 12th – Will volunteers to host.
-Riker’s is good
k. Prayer (David)
-Nothing to report.
l. Graphics (Erin)
-Dance flyer is now available for distribution along with pre-sale tickets.
m. Literature (Darren)
-Haven’t done a THING for NYCYPAA for 3 weeks

V. 7th Tradition

VI. Announcements
-Vacant Chair & Co-Chair positions.
-GSYP: 4/18-4/20. Campout
-Atlantic Group – That 70’s Dance: 4/26.
-PI Commitment – Bayside, Queens: 5/1, in need of volunteers.
-EACYPAA: 5/2-5/4 – Cleveland, OH.
-VSCYPAA: 6/20-6/22.
-BCCYPAA: 11/7-11/10 – would like a speaker from NYC.
-ICYPAA Bid Committee Rep will be elected next meeting
-Doctor’s Program needs help

VII. Old Business
a. Dance:
• Format of the Meeting, not going to necessarily have announcements, going to have a list of announcements to make, but isn’t going to open up announcements to the floor
• Speakers
-$400 for the speakers (delivery and pickup).
-Other prices range from $80-95 per speaker (we need four)
- Darren offered two speakers, apparently they’re very big
a. YPAA Video:
• No further developments.
• Going to South NJ Campout to film more video at the Bonfire meeting.
• Motion that NYCYPAA Formally offers to record the bonfire speaker and videotape hot bonfire action to add to YPAA Video: motion passes.
b. ICYPAA
• We are officially on the website as a bid-city
• Cory brought up ideas for another skit (like a song)
c. Bid Book Theme
• Pizza Box
• Some ideas of including the phrase: the fellowship you crave
• Delivering the book in the pizza box, making it look like a pizza box
• Diner Menu
d. Moving NYCYPAA
• Should it be removed from the agenda? Group Conscience voted to take it off.
e. SENY Archives Project
• Deadline end of June
f. Giving In Our Own Words to YP Meetings
• Pending
g. Renting Van for EACYPAA
• Daniel, Darren, Meg, Jason, Erin will most likely go, Darren will book a room
• We might be doing a presentation on the YPAA Video
VIII. New Business
a. Doctor’s Program
• Meet with doctors in residency and take them to a meeting
• Motion to get two people every month to do the commitment --> Passes.
• Josh will take over the commitment until an Intergroup Chair is elected
b. Riker’s Island Female Juvenile Ward Commitment
• Motion to designate female juvenile ward commitment as a NYCYPAA Commitment
c. Jason wants Intergroup Chair: Voted in by acclimation

IX. Closing
-Serenity Prayer.
-The next NYCYPAA meeting will be held on Sunday, April 20th @ 4:00pm.
