NYCYPAA MEETING
May 6, 2007, 4pm - 6pm

I. Meeting opened with Serenity Prayer.

II. Intro and Roll call:
- Attendance: Josh, Erin, Mandy, Carlos, Darren, Tiffany, Tim, Daniel, Viviana
- Absent with notice (late): Laura, Daniel S., Kristy, Brian, Rakhel, Brook, Cory

III. Reports
A. Darren - Treasury Report
- $2,128.83. $62.25 rent fund
- Half of our 7th Tradition is the rent

B. Josh - Co-Chair
- Contact info is in ICYPAA Page

C. Viviana - Bid Chair
- Coffee consumed at last ICYPAA: 806 gal. ($55 a gallon after 1,500 gallons)
- Total cost of food, catering, banquet, cookies, snacks: $12,000
- Brooklyn Marriott can give official contract
- Still looking at Manhattan venues, but will be very expensive
- Marriott Marquis - way bigger than we need (500 rooms)
- Looking at a separate hotel and venue
- Tried to contact Meghan at NYC Chamber & Commerce

D. Tim - Web Report
- Got last 2 minutes, both up on Internet - had a rough time getting them
- Old flyers still up - will take them down
- Flyer for the NYS Informational Workshop needs to be up
- Brian apparently has the flyers, hasn't been able to contact him
- Brooklyn people also gave him flyers but his scanner's broken

E. Mandi - SENY Rep
- Assembly Meeting - only 3 people - responses to questions
- Grapevine Meeting Thursday - she'll be attending

F. Tiffany - Intergroup
- Answering phones this Saturday
- Josh's/Darren's possibilities

G. Daniel - Institutions
- Rikers going well
- Business cards next week - Proxied from Cory

H. Erin - Literature
- Grapevine
- Get NYC Young Peoples' pamphlet
- Need to find co-chair for summer absence

IV. Announcements
A. Northeast Regional Forum - Weekend after EACYPAA, June 1 - 3, Lancaster, PA

V. Old Business
A. Darren - Videos
- Approved video idea; no guidelines or timeline
- Meeting in July, answer in September
- We can shoot anything about AA
- They'll edit to comply with Traditions and distribute
- Theme Oriented - Any format accommodated
- Launching(Canceling?) Digital Release
- Why not Grapevine Project? They are considering it.
- Suggestions: YouTube, Video Diary on cell phones, invite them to one of our meetings

VI. New Business
A. ICYPAA Bid
- Young Peoples' pamphlet handed out. Laura's story made it.
- AA's history here
- Brooklyn home, Bill in hospital
- Presentation: 15 - 20 minutes - "No Sleep till Brooklyn", Original Rap beats and song suggested.

B. EACYPAA
- Transportation: Should we provide it?
- Probably not, unless a bunch of people want to go.

C. Newsweek Article
- Midtown Group, DC (Fall of Midtown)
- Affecting AA as a whole?
- Letter of support
- Be power of example, stay out of it.
