IV. ANNOUNCEMENTS
A. Laura – Wrote article published in current LINK.

B. Laura – District 601 and 608 are having a meeting to discuss what a district is at Seafarers at Irving Place from 1500 – 1800 on 29 April.

C. Many vacant co-chair positions available.

D. Al Anon Convention in Terrytown 3-5 May. Same weekend as NY State information workshop.

E. Young people in AA information pamphlet is published. Delegates have not received it yet but it is coming out.

F. ICYPAA Bid signatures lost – need to be re-signed.

V. Old Business

A. Darren – Thinks we should make a video. Delegates will be deciding whether to make AA videos or not. Afterwards, according to guidelines, we will have three month window to crate a video.
1. Daniel – Thinks it would be cool to put together a video. A great way of being of service. Particularly for newcomers in rehab.
2. Tim – Thinks a video is a great idea. How will we keep anonymity?
3. Rakhel – Don’t show faces, while still being emotionally accessible.
4. Laura – Any video would have to be completely anonymous.
5. Darren – Post production is easiest way to solve problem.
6. Tim – Showing body parts is best solution but impersonal. But post production is best. Do editing.
7. Mandy – Interviews are boring and unexciting. They are unappealable to young people and newcomers. Cartoon would be cute.
8. Daniel – Put disclaimer claiming to be professionals.
9.Rakhel – Should we discuss what we want content to be and figure out technicalities after?
10. Darren – They will be inventing the guidelines. If we make and submit than we can help them to create the guidelines.
11. They may also decide they need another year.
12. Josh – So we would edit anything after t hey set the guidelines.
13. Darren – If we create something useful than we can give them out on our own. Make them useful here for possible greater potential.
14. Rakhel – Found out about AA while in treatment. Videos were very dated and seemed very attached to a certain time. If she thought something was meant to appear cool than she would reject it. Looked for a sense of humor to see that people did not take themselves too seriously.

B. Motion
1. Daniel – Motion to make video
-Viviana – Seconded motion

C. Discussion:
-Tim – when is deadline?
-Darren – Don’t know for sure but most likely next fall.
-Tim – Will we discuss the video here or at a sub meeting?
-Daniel – If done by committee than probably the Literature committee. Not printed but is NYCYPAA material – media.
-Josh – Sounds like we are going to make a video and it will be up to us whether and how we use it or not.
-Cory – Are we looking to do something more home-grown or will we devote a budget to it and do planning and make it sophisticated. Because it can become a real drain on our resources.
-Rakhel – Let us make the initial motion and add to it later.

D. Vote: Unanimous.

E. Motion:
-For Darren to lead video production.
-Darren volunteers. No objections. Darren wants to hear honest and humorous opinion on what needs to be included in video.

VI. New Business:

A. Kristy has a career conflict. She has missed over three meetings in a three month period. She really does want to be here though.
-Josh – If we get rid of her there is no one to fill her position. There are not a lot of people flocking to do service.
-Rakhel – There are still a lot of co-chair positions available.
-All are in agreement to keep Christy as Prayer chair.

B. Darren – EACYPAA Van – Memorial weekend 25-27 May in Detroit.
-A twelve hour drive straight through. Would probably have to leave at 0600 Friday morning.
-Laura – We’re probably only leading panels.
-Daniel – Would be significantly more expensive due to mileage. He will try to find out more info about renting a van.
-Darren – Will look into if we’re actually leading anything and what.
-NERF – North East Regional Forum in Lancaster, PA. At NERF you can ask any question on AA and someone one will be able to answer it.
-Laura – Talk to Delores H. if interested in going to NERF 1-3 June. Hotel is booked. It is $25 roundtrip per person from SENY leaving at 1400. Delores can be reached at 212-799-568 or sponsorship@aaseny.org.
-Darren – AA hired new archivist. There is a film from 1960, a documentary. It was never able to be shown due to anonymity. We can go to archives in N.Y. and check them out.
-Mandy – was asked to find people in their teens that got sober in their teens with significant clean time.

C. ICYPAA
-Viviana – Went over 8 Bid requirements for group. We want a simple, professional bid book. It should look organized and not like we finished it that morning.
-Daniel – Bidding cities include Boston, Georgia, Hawaii, Maine, Missouri, NY, Oklahoma, and Texas.
-Daniel – We should have a secondary hotel
1. Discussion:
-NO. The more we fill the hotel the more they will give us.
-Josh – We can show travel scenarios and how it winds up being cheaper in the long run even if the hotel is more expensive ($169).
-Viviana – We might be able to get metro cards with package.
-Daniel – Checked ICYPAA 49 website. We are not yet added to the bidding cities.
-Laura – Received a call from the ICYPAA 49 treasurer, Ron (626-806-4670). They are looking to do a New York venue prior to the convention as outreach.

VII. Motion to close: Close.
