NYCYPAA Minutes
03/18/07: 4-6pm

I. Opened with the Serenity Prayer, 12 traditions

II. Introductions/Roll Call
-Attendance: Laura, Josh, Catya, Darren, Tiffany, Brandon, Rakhel, Brian,
Tim, Daniel, Mandi, Erin, Fran (late).
-Absent with notice: Brook, Barrett, Viviana, Daniel (Brazil), Cory (late), Kristy (performing),

III. Reports

A) Secretary
-Minutes from 03/04/07 meeting read and accepted.

B) Treasurer
-We currently have $2102.33 in the treasury.
- $755.00 ($100 deposit) – Jan Hus Karaoke
- $400 for Karaoke killed the Kat.
- $200 refreshments.
-$920 at the door plus folks who couldn’t pay the full price.
-8 freebies.
-Refreshments spent $206, lost $54 on refreshments.
-$7.91 cents “lost”.
-Two Grapevine subscriptions to be paid for.

C) YPAA Liaison
- Richie from GSYP. There will be a conference second to last weekend in April. They’re up for hosting a meeting or workshop.

D) Events
-We went in thinking we’d lose money, we might have broken even.
-Seems as though we still have a good relationship with Jan Hus.
-Plan next event within two or three months.
-Grapevine themed dance with possible Spanish speaking theme.
-Pancake breakfast- Portland ICYPAA host committee put on pancake breakfast/meeting, throw pancakes at chair’s face for a buck.

E) Outreach
-Good job repping NYCYPAA at MSAD and Alcoholic Idol.

F) Bid Facilities
- No news. Still waiting on info from last year’s committee.
G) Web Report
-All is up to date.
-Email issues should be resolved.

H) SENY
-S-A-D went well.

J) Intergroup
-Saturday, quarterly intergroup delegate’s meeting.
-Big Meeting and Bill W. Dinner/Dance.
-June 24th, 1pm-3pm at New York Hilton.
-Dinner/Dance November 3rd, 2007 at NY Hilton.
-Planning committee meeting Sunday, March 25th.
-Old-Timer’s meeting from 1-3.
-Institutions/Corrections Dinner/Dance.
-Forms for June 2007 meeting book out. Important they be filled out.
-Telephone volunteers committee meeting, Friday, March 23rd.
-Forum and quarterly delegates meeting flyers available.
-Eric is at North Carolina repping NYCYPAA at a Corrections Forum.

K) GRAPHICS
-Hasn’t ordered business cards.
-Has business cards.
-Atlantic Group member had a comment about AA & Karaoke being mentioned together.

L) Literature
-Nothing to report.

-EACYPAA NYC folks have been asked to speak at convention.

-Billy Noonan will be at ICYPAA. Wants to meet with us to discuss his experience.

-Co-Chair/YPAA liaison. Communicate with other YPAA committees throughout the world and fill in when necessary when other Chairs need help.

-Josh volunteered to step in for Co-Chair/YPAA liaison.

b. SENY
- Brooklyn County Share-A-Day Saturday, June 23rd, 2007, approached about having a table. Need a rep for the KICKOFF meeting.
- Josh and (possibly) Rakhel will be repping.
- We’ve been asked to handle hospitality.
- Grapevine Lavinia meeting in the Bronx. 199 Lincoln Ave, Ste. 302
- Important that we don’t propagate feeling of targeting certain audiences. We don’t want to be separatist.
c. Absence
-BROOK
-Hasn’t been to a meeting since she got her position.
-Doesn’t have to have a position to be part of the committee.
-We recognize we have no authority to punish anyone for how
we handle our service positions, however, we don’t have any alternative Co-Secretary.
-DISCUSSION TABLED
d. SENY Convention/next NYCYPAA meeting.
-We’ll be meeting April 1st and April 15th as scheduled.
- 5th Sunday fellowship Distict 601/District 608 workshop.
e. Space issue
-We will be contacting the Delegate re: conference.

f. ICYPAA letter
-Specific claims to only be involved in the caretaking of this convention. This is the reason we’re doing this.
g. DANCE
-May 12th or June 16TH for next dance with a $1500 budget.
-Provided we are successful, we’ll be throwing a dance.
MOTION: Dance on May 12th
PASSES UNANIMOUSLY.
h. 46th Street Clubhouse
-No figures from Clubhouse re: what was lost, so we don’t know what to donate.
h. Video
-They want to develop a new video targeted towards young people.
-Preliminary plan utilizing submissions from fellowship to make a video for young people.
-Submission open May 15th through November.
-This has to be voted on at General Service Conference.
-If approved, we’ll be given guidelines.
-MOTION: TABLE DISCUSSION UNTIL NEXT MEETING.
- They should be building their guidelines.
