Reports

Secretary
-Minutes from 10/16 read and accepted.

Treasurer
-We currently have $294 in the treasury.
-Rent was paid in October.
-We made $12.50 from NYCYPAA/District 601 Service Event

Bylaws
-nothing to report

Events
-Catya reports on Pumpkin Pickin’ Day. We made a $40 profit. Fun was had by all, despite rotten pumpkins. Meeting took place in rotten apple orchard.
-Fran, former NYC resident, is now on NECYPAA, which will be New Year’s Eve, 2005. Are we interested to throw a joint dance/event with them. Budget is around $500. $10 suggested donation. NECYPAA wants to set up a registration table for their event. Possible locations: nyc churches or schools.

Outreach
-Janusz and Jared want to have the NYCYPAA flyer out as general information in our local communities.
-Never Too Young, yp meeting in Bronx, former Bridge Over Troubled Waters meeting, is a meeting we’d like to do something with. Jared may contact Atieno to outreach Brooklyn young people.
-New NYCYPAA liaison from Young People’s Step.
-Complete Abandon has been asked to be on the yp list.

Web
-no report

Literature
-Nothing to report.

SENY Liaison
-SENY Assembly, Nov. 13, 2005.
-Attended the SENY Convention Planning Mtg.

Intergroup Representative
-YP institution in NY: Phoenix house. Rakhel is researching more adolescent treatment facilities. Are we looking for inpatient or outpatient facilities to take a meeting to. Maybe Arms Acres has a connection in Manhattan. 4Winds in Katonah, NY already has a mtg that some young kids go to. We could participate with them. How can we work in conjunction with Intergroup? They don’t make distinctions between young people’s commitments. The Intergroup publishes a list of open commitments. Maybe we can get this list and find something interesting. Day Top Village is for young people.
-Does NYCYPAA want to make a regular shift of answering phones at intergroup? Once a month we could do it as a group. We could have the phone transferred to a landline and watch movies while we answer phones. We would like to know when they need people. The night shift is 10pm to 6am. Darren’s loft has a landline and is big.
-Saturday, November 19th, 2005, from 10pm, to 6am.

Graphics
-Nothing to report.

Prayer Chair
-Nothing to report.

7th Tradition: $

Old Business

The New Comer Packet is here for our approval. Good content, bad form.
Motion to accept the content of the NCP as is. Seconded.
-discussion: is there anything else we would like to include? History of Young People’s AA. Bill’s Letter to YP. Our website information. Leadership essay from Service Manual. Why are the traditions included and not the concepts? Delete the traditions?
Motion Passed 4-1-0
Minority Opinion: we should answer the above questions.
Votes changed, but before revote, during discussion, we had a motion to table because there are few people in attendance.
Motion to Table Passed 4-1-0
New Business
Elections
Graphics Chair: Cory by Acclimation, unanimous.

B. Do flyers need to be approved by the whole committee? We’ve had no Graphics Chair for awhile, so our process has been unofficial. We want the Graphics Chair to have full authority to do the job. Email approvals is fine. We don’t want anyone to act alone, but we want our trusted servants to be able to do their jobs.

C. NYCYPAA and NECYPAA Snow Ball Dance. December weekend. Pre-sell tickets. $10 and $12 at the door. Possible location $500, PS3. Sell sodas. Motion: Snow Ball Dance, December 10th, 2005.
Seconded. Discussion: make or break date for the space is thanksgiving.
Motion passed 6-0-0

Closing
-Serenity Prayer
