NYCYPAA minutes June 5th, 2005
In Attendance: Daniel, Janusz, Pat, Catya, Megan, Phil, Laura, Andrew, Jason, Mandi, Will and Michelle
Opened meeting with the Serenity Prayer
Pat read the 12 Traditions
Minutes:
* Darren Called and said he would be late
* Megan recalled the minutes from 5/22/05
Reports:
Treasurer: Michelle
* Last week we collected $9.00 in 7th tradition.
* We donated 4 to Veteran's Hospital for rent.
* We generously received a $30.00 donation from Y.E.S.
* Our balance is now $158.50.
Outreach: Janusz
* Went to Never Too Young in the Bronx.
* Spoke with people involved in "Bridge Over Troubled Water" a young people's committee which was functioning for 15 years and disbanded 5 years ago due to a lack of interest from young people. He told them we would be interested in learning from their experience.
* Next outreach event:
o Tuesday, June 7th, 2005 8:00PM- the Bay Ridge Group located at:
Ft. Hamilton Presbyterian Church

* Been putting up info on the website (minutes/flyers)
* Only one person has added themselves to the email list via the website
* Communication has either been lacking or on too short notice
Events: Catya
* Scavenger Hunt this Friday (6/10/05)
o Has the list of rules for NYCYPAA to approve but will not go into details as to the scavenger items so as not to give unfair advantage to NYCYPAA members
o Decided as a group that $10 would be the limit as per expenses per person, excluding MTA transit
* Also has another event top pitch in new business

* Said she is doing service at Intergroup on Saturday morning at 7:30 AM and would like some help.

Pat made a motion that NYCYPAA committee meetings be scheduled as follows:
Regular committee meetings the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month
By-laws committee meetings the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month until they are ratified
Committee fellowship on the 5th Sunday of a month
Phil offered an amendment that we reserve the 2nd and 4th Sundays for special business meetings in general
Pat accepted this amendment
Vote: 10 in favor, 0 opposed, 1 abstention = MOTION PASSES
Michelle made a motion that we have no business meeting the 1st Sunday of July because it will be the 4th of July Weekend.
Vote: 10 in favor, 0 opposed, 1 abstention = MOTION PASSES
Pat made a motion that we move the NYCYPAA meeting to 4PM.
Michelle offered that we amend the motion to include a clause which requires this decision to stand for a certain period of time if passed.
Pat rejected this amendment
Vote: Vote: 8 in favor, 0 opposed, 2 abstentions = MOTION PASSES
Andrew brought up pool tournament idea as an event. He will talk to the events committee about helping out with future events;
Mandi said she is stepping down from her commitment as Literature Chair.

Opened up with the Serenity Prayer
Rob, the Prayer Chair, has been absent from NYCYPAA committee meetings for about 2 months. He has not given notice in several weeks.
Michelle made a motion that we elect a new prayer chair
Vote: Vote: 10 in favor, 0 opposed, 1 abstentions = MOTION PASSES
Mandi made a motion that we have a temporary Prayer chair until formal elections
Janusz offered an amendment that we elect a permanent Prayer chair.
Mandi withdrew her motion
Pat made a motion to elect Andrew as Prayer chair by acclamation
Vote: Vote: 11 in favor, 0 opposed, 0 abstentions = MOTION PASSES
Catya made a motion that NYCYPAA sponsor a product6ion of AA: The Musical
Vote: Vote: 11 in favor, 0 opposed, 0 abstentions = MOTION PASSES
